Sejatinya dosa tak ada yang tahu sejatinya manusia hanya dirinya yang tahu

Berjalanlah sesuai hati dan jiwamu karna kau sendiri menempuh perjalanan panjangmu

Padha gulangen ing kalbu, ing sasmita amrih lantip, aja pijer mangan nendra, kaprawiran den kaesthi pesunen sariranira, sudanen dhahar lan guling (Serat Wulangreh, PB IV)

 

Unggah-ungguh/tata krami salah satunggalipun tembung ingkang wigati tumrap bebrayan Jawi. Unggah-ungguh nedahaken tindak-tanduk lan pakartinipun budaya tiyang Jawi anggenipun sesrawungan kaliyan tiyang sanes.

Tata krami sumberipun saking kabudayan Jawi mliginipun basa Jawi. Tiyang Jawi ngginaaken basa Jawi mboten namung sarana kangge sesrawungan nanging ingkang langkung utami kangge atur pakurmatan tiyang sanes utawi nglenggahaken status sosial ingkang kedah dipun kurmati.

Para leluhur ing tanah Jawi ndadosaken tata krami minangka way of life  ingkang sampun ambalung sungsum dados perangan gesangipun manungsa. Pramila kangge mengertosi budaya Jawi sawetahipun ingkang kebak pralambang lan pasemon ingkang sinamung samudana, kedah dipun sinau, dipun gegulang kanti raos ingkang sareh lan sumeleh saha kanthi lantiping sasmita.

Kados kasebat wonten ing Serat Wulanreh pupuh Kinanthi yasan dalem PB IV ing inggil. Tiyang Jawi sanget nemenaken olah rasa lan olah jiwa. Pramila babagan tata krami kedah dipun persudi, dipun lestantunaken minangka jati dhirinipun tiyang Jawi.

Nanging ing wekdal sapunika, wonten raos prihatos amrih lestantunipun budaya Jawi. Unggah-ungguh tumrapipun saperangan para mudha dipun lirwaaken, nilar tata krami, tebih saking subasita. Sansaya  dangu mboten ketingal gregetipun nggegulang kawruh budaya nanging kepara nyingkuri jati dhirinipun piyambak.

Para mudha ingkang kagadhang-gadhang saget nglajengaken kagunan budaya ing madyaning bebrayan, malah mboten wonten rumaos melu handarbeni budayanipun. Punika sampun kabukten kathah para mudha ingkang mboten saget matur mawi basa Jawi, langkung remen ngginaaken basa manca, sarwa kebat kliwat, kirang duga lan prayoga, kirang trapsila, grusa-grusu lan sanesipun.

Babagan kawontenanipun para mudha ingkang kados mekaten, tebih sakderengipun, raja ing Surakarta Sinuhun PB IV sampun  paring cecala ing pupuh Kinanthi pada kaping 8: Yen wong anom-anom iku, kang kanggo ing masa iki, andhap asor kang den simpar, umbag gumunggunging dhiri, obral umuk kang den gulang, kumenthus lawan kumaki.

Kasinggihan, sapunika sampun arang kapireng tembung: nyuwun sewu, ndherek langkung, nyuwun pangapunten, kepareng matur tumrapipun para mudha. Tetembungan punika, sanajan namung sapala, nanging mengku tata krami menawi badhe matur dhumateng tiyang sanes.

Lunturipun tata krami, salah satunggalipun sabab nyebataken awit majengipun teknologi informasi lan globalisasi, ingkang ndadosaken jagad pasrawungan sarwa instan.

Samubarang tumindak kedah cepet supados mboten tinilar jaman. Punika wonten leresipun, nanging sampun ngantos budaya Jawi, mliginipun unggah ungguh/tata krami, ical musna kados dene basa Jawi Kina ingkang sapunika sampun mboten saged dipun magertosi malih. Sumangga sadaya gumregah, gumregut lan mbudidaya amrih lestantunipun.

Kasinggihan , kini jarang kapireng kata : Aku menyesal , selamat tinggal , meminta pengampunan , silakan berbicara melawan mereka. Kata-kata , bahkan jika hanya sapala , tapi turun prosedur pemberontakan yang tidak akan berbicara dengan orang . Withers prosedur pemberontakan , mantan penyebab , sebut saja sejak teknologi informasi dan globalisasi, pasrawungan dunia I ndadosaken instan . Setiap tindakan cepat sehingga kita bisa tinilar tanggal . Memang benar , tapi sampai budaya , terutama ungguh upload / prosedur pemberontakan , pergi pergi seperti bahasa artefak yang ada sekarang tidak bisa magertosi lagi. Silakan gumregah semua , dan perlu diingat gumregut amrih lestantunipun .

Manawa gandaning candhana iku ditikelake loro, isih kalah karo anyesing pangandikane pandhita kang pindha tirta mareta. Geni iku panas, ngluwihi panasing srengenge. Nanging manawa panasing geni iku ditikelake loro, isih kongkulan panasing guneme wong ala. The cool fragrance of sandalwood, even more than the moonlight, refreshes the heart. But if its fragrance were doubled in sweetness, it would still not be as sweet as priestly words flowing like the water of immortality. Fire is hotter than the sunshine, but if its heat were doubled in ferocity, it would still not burn as hot as the words of an evil person.  
   PREFACEAll praise is due to God, the Lord of the World.The above passage, a translation of the Serat Nitisastra from the Mojopahit Dynasty, is a good introduction to the way the Javanese view their literature, most of which concerns their history or spirituality.We were inspired to collect these ancient Javanese texts, and offer them to you with the utmost appreciation and respect to our ancestors who left these teachings to us.We hope that by offering them on the World Wide Web, we will preserve the Javanese culture and add in some small way to the philosophical and spiritual discourse of the people.The meaning of these ancient texts is quite naturally the subject of much speculation and debate among scholars. Many passages are famous for their hidden prophecies.Regardless of our attempts to come to terms with their meaning, we have produced a translation that does not attempt to clear up their often-perplexing ambiguity. We recommend that you read and ponder them with an open mind.As an aid to understanding them, we offer the following; these poems are often written in the form of parables, and are replete with sayings and complex symbolism. Words often have more than one meaning. For example, the word “eling” means; remember. But depending on the context, eling also means: an ethical value; a level of depth in one’s spiritual awareness; a return to consciousness after fainting, etc. It is difficult to translate without forcing an interpretation on the text. However, we will do our best to offer alternate meanings in the footnotes where we feel they are relevant. Keep in mind that it is important to be aware of where we are in a given poem. Finally, to put oneself in the proper disposition to read these Serat Jawis, it is necessary to be peaceful, attentive, clear of mind, body and spirit. Dene badharing pralampita wau muhung saking pangertosan kita piyambak-piyambak. Panggelaring sadaya serat piwulang punika prasasat boten wonten tembung ingkang ukaranipun kadamel prasaja, ananging tansah nyimpen wewados kalimpadaning basa. Sarehning makaten kawontenanipun, kula nyuwun sih samodranng pangaksami mbokmanawi panyuraosing piwulang wau wonten klentunipun awit kula piyambak dereng mumpuni saestu ing babagan punika. Wewejangan punika tansah kadhapur tembung paribasan,  pasemon, pralambang, tuwin pralampita. Umpaminipun tembung “eling” tegesipun emut. Nanging ugi anggadhahi teges; tumindak ingkang boten nyalahi tata krama; sifat pasrah marang Gusti, kahanan alam pikiraning manungsa, sadar saksampunipun semaput, lsp. Dados manawi kita badhe nyuraos piwulang, punika kita kedah ngengeti parwa lan slokanipun, yen boten makaten tamtu badhe klentu panyuraosipun. Minangka pungkasaning rembag, manawi panjenengan badhe maos serat-serat Jawi punika kedah kanthi penggalih ingkang suci, tentrem, teliti, lan wening supados saged mangertosi wejanganipun. The above passage, a translation of the Serat Nitisastra from the Mojopahit Dynasty, is a good introduction to the way the Javanese view their literature, most of which concerns their history or spirituality.We were inspired to collect these ancient Javanese texts, and offer them to you with the utmost appreciation and respect to our ancestors who left these teachings to us.We hope that by offering them on the World Wide Web, we will preserve the Javanese culture and add in some small way to the philosophical and spiritual discourse of the people.The meaning of these ancient texts is quite naturally the subject of much speculation and debate among scholars. Many passages are famous for their hidden prophecies.Regardless of our attempts to come to terms with their meaning, we have produced a translation that does not attempt to clear up their often-perplexing ambiguity. We recommend that you read and ponder them with an open mind.As an aid to understanding them, we offer the following; these poems are often written in the form of parables, and are replete with sayings and complex symbolism. Words often have more than one meaning. For example, the word “eling” means; remember. But depending on the context, eling also means: an ethical value; a level of depth in one’s spiritual awareness; a return to consciousness after fainting, etc. It is difficult to translate without forcing an interpretation on the text. However, we will do our best to offer alternate meanings in the footnotes where we feel they are relevant. Keep in mind that it is important to be aware of where we are in a given poem. Context is often a great clue as to their meaning. Finally, to put oneself in the proper disposition to read these Serat Jawis, it is necessary to be peaceful, attentive, clear of mind, body and spirit. While contemplating them, one should strive not to be rude, coarse, hurried, greedy or have impure thoughts.
